Nottingham Road has become a thriving natal midlands
town as a result of its scenic beauty, being centrally
located on the well known Midlands Meander, its close
proximity to the N3 freeway and the many private schools
that exist in the area.

The area has also become well known for its excellent trout fishing and
now boasts several very popular fishing competitions. A recently established
company Wildfly has taken control of many of the prime fishing destinations
in the area and aims to manage these waters in order to ensure that Nottingham
Road will remain a top flyfishing destination in the country. Nottingham
Road has identified tourism as a key industry for the area.
The Nottingham Road Tourism Association is very active
in promoting tourism related events and activities in
the area. These include the following annual events:
Vintage and Steam, Glenfiddick Flyfishing competition,
Sherwood Festival and the Midlands Marathon. The Nottingham
Road Landowners Association is a very active organisation
that not only represents the interests of farmers but
all land owners in the area.
Key areas of activity include fire control, land and
labour matters, security and lobbying various levels
of government for the provision of services to the area.
A focal point of the association at present is ensuring
that property rates are introduced at realistic levels.
